Break
the Bank
Official
Rules
1. General. By participating in the Vegas
Baby Break the Bank (“BtB”), entrants agree to be
bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Vegas Baby Bowling
(“VBB”), which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to BtB. BtB is subject to all applicable
federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited. BtB is a multi-facility game.
2. Net
Proceeds. All
proceeds of BtB will benefit the VBB league. Net
proceeds from each game will be allocated to the end of season tournament.
3. Eligibility. BtB is
only open to permanent members of a VBB team. Substitutes are not eligible to
participate in BtB. All persons must be age eighteen
(18) and older and subject to these Official Rules.
4. Purchasing
BtB Tickets. All BtB tickets may be
purchased as follows: Only one (1) BtB ticket may be
purchased per entrant. One (1) BtB ticket may be
purchased for $2.00. There are no discounts or complimentary BtB tickets. BtB tickets will be
available for purchase in-person at the (“Bowling Alley”). BtB
tickets will be sold from the start of warm up/practice through the conclusion
of the warm up/practice. VBB shall be the sole judge of the validity and
eligibility of all entries. All BtB tickets purchases
shall be final, and no refunds or replacements will be issued by VBB. BtB tickets are only valid for the game held on the date of
purchase.
5. BtB
Tickets are Not Tax Deductible.
The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in
raffles, lotteries, or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price
of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.
6. Prize. The winner will receive a prize equal
to the current bank balance. The amount available in the bank for you to win is
equal to the percentage of games that you have participated in. The only way
you can win everything in the bank is to have paid to participate every week it
is available to play. Missed weeks may be purchased prior to the start of the
game for that week to become eligible for all the bank. If a participant in
another facility breaks the bank within the same game week, the winners will
share the available bank balance.
7. Taxes.
Each winner
shall be responsible for all travel, costs, federal, state and local income or
excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with a prize.
8. Breaking
the Bank. For someone to break the bank,
they must successfully bowl a strike in the predetermined number of and
specific frames over the course of the 3-game set. If the bank is broken the
new starting bank balance will be $25.
9. Failure
to Break the Bank. If nobody
successfully breaks the Bank over the course of the season, all the money in
the “bank” will be transferred to the end of season tournament to add to that
balance.
10.
Prize Claim. Upon successfully obtaining the appropriate number and
location of the predetermined strikes present your BtB
ticket to VBB for validation. VBB will have your scores printed from the house
computers for verification. When your scores have been verified you will receive
your prize in Las Vegas as Casino Cash. Winnings may be applied to bowling fees. Any score corrections resulting in a BtB win will invalidate your score sheet unless the score
correction was made by a VBB associate.
11. Odds. The odds of winning BtB depend on the number of BtB
tickets purchased for the drawing and your ability to perform the task.
12. Transfer
of BtB tickets or Prize. Persons who purchase a BtB tickets may not give away their BtB
ticket to other persons. Purchasers of BtB tickets
may not re-sell their BtB ticket to other parties,
and may not knowingly give BtB ticket away to others to
allow those other parties to re-sell such BtB ticket.
All BtB tickets which have been resold in violation
of these Official Rules shall be void. All individuals who re-sell, purchase,
or receive BtB tickets in violation of these Official
Rules shall be ineligible to participate in BtB or to
win a prize. A winner may transfer his/her prize to a third party provided that
the following conditions are met: (a) the transferee would have otherwise been
eligible to enter BtB (age eighteen (18) or older);
(b) the transferee shall be responsible for all taxes and costs described in
these Official Rules; and (c) the transferee shall be bound by all terms and
conditions of these Official Rules that are applicable to the winner.
13. Judges.
BtB will be conducted and supervised
by VBB, whose decisions are final. VBB reserves the right to modify these
Official Rules at any time. VBB reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to
cancel or suspend BtB should unauthorized human
intervention or other causes corrupt the administration, security, fairness,
integrity or proper operation of BtB.
14. Release
of Liability.
By entering into BtB, all
entrants agree to: (a) be bound by these Official Rules; and (b) release VBB
from all liability with respect to any injury, damage or loss that may occur,
directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the participation in BtB, or from any travel or activity related to the receipt
or use of any prize.
15. Publicity
Release. Each
winner, by accepting a prize, grants VBB and its designees and affiliates,
including the bowling alley, full permission, except where legally prohibited,
to use such winner’s name, address (city and state only), photograph, voice
and/or other likeness, and prize information for advertising, trade and
promotional purposes without further compensation and without notice, review or
approval, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and in
perpetuity. Each winner shall execute all documents that VBB may require to be
signed regarding this release. Should a winner elect to not have their picture
taken or refuses for their likeness to be used in all media the winner shall
forfeit the prize.
16. Governing
Law. BtB and these Official Rules shall
be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. If a court of
competent jurisdiction finds that any provision of these Official Rules, or
their application to persons or circumstances, is invalid or unenforceable to
any extent, then the remainder of these Official Rules shall remain enforceable
fully permitted by law. The venue for any cause of action arising out of BtB or these Official Rules shall be in Maricopa County,
Arizona.
