Individual Tournament of Champions

Official Rules

1.      General. By participating in the Vegas Baby Individual Tournament of Champions (“ITOC”), entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Vegas Baby Bowling (“VBB”), which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the ITOC. ITOC is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited.

2.      Eligibility. The ITOC is open to league member’s age eighteen (18) and older and subject to these Official Rules. Substitutes may not participate in the weekly ITOC. Bowers who do not have a VBB average are not eligible for the ITOC until they have obtained 3 games with VBB. Once the 3 games have been obtained, either the current or book average will be used to determine that participants average in the ITOC.

3.      ITOC Costs. ITOC is free to league bowlers.

4.      Prize. The prize for winning the weekly ITOC will be an opportunity to participate in the end of season ITOC in Las Vegas. Only the bowler who participates in the ITOC at the end of the season tournament may receive the prize. If your bowling fees are compensated by the house, the management or VBB you are not eligible for the prize. The end of season ITOC prize is 50% off the next season’s weekly fees and all the Las Vegas fees (room and tournament fees).

5.      Taxes. Each winner shall be responsible for all travel, costs, federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with a prize.

6.      Game Play. The ITOC is a weekly bracket, played out in head to head competition. Each week the bowler’s total pins with handicap will determine who advances into the first round of the bracket. The top 32 bowlers (scratch series score + handicap) will be in the bracket. You may only be in one bracket at a time. Once eliminated from a bracket you will compete the following week for an opportunity to earn a spot in the new bracket. Each week a new bracket will begin, giving the bowlers the maximum opportunity to compete against other bowlers. There will be a maximum of 16 bracket winners participating in the ITOC in Las Vegas, Nevada.

7.      Determining a Winner. Entry into the ITOC is determined by the bowler who advances and ultimately wins the head to head bracket. A bowler may win multiple brackets thus increasing the number of opportunities in Las Vegas. If a winner of a bracket withdraws from the Las Vegas tournament prior to the tournament’s start, the individual eliminated because of the victor will be entered into the ITOC in Las Vegas. Every effort will be made to prevent a Vacant from being in the ITOC tournament both locally and in Las Vegas. Certain circumstances may allow for a Vacant to be a part of the tournament. If that should happen, a participant will be required to bowl their tournament average +1 pin to advance beyond the Vacant. Tying the Vacant will result in a loss to the Vacant.

8.      Averages. A bowler’s current average is used in the weekly ITOC. In Las Vegas, your TA (tournament average) will be used. Your TA is your Book Average (BA), your 12-game average (12A), your 21-game average (21A), your 42-game average (42A) or your current average, whichever is higher.

9.      Ties. In the event of a tie in the first round, the second rounds data will break the tie. A tie in the second round will be broken by the third-round data. A tie in the finals will be resolved by total pins with handicap. In the event of a tie in total pins including handicap a one frame roll-off will commence until the tie is broken.

10.  Prize Claim.  ITOC credits will be issued after the end of season ITOC Championship. ITOC champions will have 2 seasons to redeem the prize or it will be forfeited.

11.  Odds. The odds of winning the ITOC depend on the bowler’s ability to perform.

12.  Transfer of Prize. A winner may not transfer his/her prize to a third party.

13.  Judges. The ITOC will be conducted and supervised by VBB, whose decisions are final. VBB reserves the right to modify these Official Rules at any time. VBB reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the ITOC should unauthorized human intervention or other causes corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper operation of the ITOC.

14.  Release of Liability. By entering the ITOC, all entrants agree to: (a) be bound by these Official Rules; and (b) release VBB from all liability with respect to any injury, damage or loss that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the participation in the ITOC, or from any travel or activity related to the receipt or use of any prize.

15.  Publicity Release. Each winner, by accepting a prize, grants VBB and its designees and affiliates, including the bowling alley, full permission, except where legally prohibited, to use such winner’s name, address (city and state only), photograph, voice and/or other likeness, and prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation and without notice, review or approval, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and in perpetuity. Each winner shall execute all documents that VBB may require to be signed relating to this release.

16.  Governing Law. The ITOC and these Official Rules shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds that any provision of these Official Rules, or their application to persons or circumstances, is invalid or unenforceable to any extent, then the remainder of these Official Rules shall remain enforceable fully permitted by law. The venue for any cause of action arising out of the ITOC or these Official Rules shall be in Maricopa County, Arizona.
