Official Rules

1.    General. By participating in the Vegas Baby Mystery Score (“MS”), entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Vegas Baby Bowling (“VBB”), which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to MS. MS is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited.

2.    Net Proceeds. All proceeds of the MS will benefit the VBB league. Net proceeds from each game will be allocated to the end of season tournament.

3.    Eligibility. The MS is open to all league bowlers age eighteen (18) and older and subject to these Official Rules.

4.    Purchasing MS. All MS entries may be purchased as follows: one (1) MS entry is $3.00. A maximum of one (1) MS entry may be purchased per individual.  There are no discounts or complimentary MS entries. MS entries will be available for purchase in-person at the (“Bowling Alley”). MS entry will be sold from the start of the warm up through the conclusion of warm up. VBB shall be the sole judge of the validity and eligibility of all entries.  All MS entries purchased shall be final, and no refunds or replacements will be issued by VBB. MS entries are only valid for the game held on the date of purchase. One ($1) dollar goes to the guaranteed first game winner per entrant. One ($1) dollar goes to the guaranteed second game winner per entrant. One ($1) dollar go towards the end of season tournament.  A minimum of 5 participants are required in order to play Mystery Score.

5.    MS entry is Not Tax Deductible. The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances to participate in MS, lotteries, or similar programs are not gifts and, therefore, the price of the entry does not qualify as a deductible charitable contribution.

6.    Prize. There will be a prize for the first and second game equal to 1/3 of all funds collected for entries into MS for the house in which it is being played. During the sweeper/Vegas, there will be a guaranteed winner for game 1, game 2, and game 3.

7.    Taxes. Each winner shall be responsible for any and all travel, costs, federal, state and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with a prize.

8.    Determining a Winner. Scores are collected for all participating bowlers and a random score will be drawn. The score drawn for the first game is guaranteed to be a score that a participating bowler has bowled. The score drawn for the second game is guaranteed to be a score that a participating bowler has bowled.

9.    Prize Claim.  You must be present to win. Upon successfully identifying a winner in the first or second game, 1/3 of all funds collected will be paid to the winning bowler.

10.  Odds. The odds of winning the MS depend on the number of MS entries purchased for the game.

11.  Transfer of MS entry or Prize. Persons who purchase MS entry may not opt to give away their MS entry to other eligible persons. Purchasers of MS may not re-sell their MS entry to other parties. A winner may transfer his/her prize to a third party provided that the following conditions are met: (a) the transferee would have otherwise been eligible to enter MS (age (18) or older); (b) the transferee shall be responsible for all taxes and costs described in these Official Rules; and (c) the transferee shall be bound by all terms and conditions of these Official Rules that are applicable to the winner.

12.  Judges. The MS will be conducted and supervised by VBB, whose decisions are final. VBB reserves the right to modify these Official Rules at any time. VBB reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the MS should unauthorized human intervention or other causes corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper operation of the MS.

13.  Release of Liability. By entering into the MS, all entrants agree to: (a) be bound by these Official Rules; and (b) release VBB from any and all liability with respect to any injury, damage or loss that may occur, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the participation in the MS, or from any travel or activity related to the receipt or use of any prize.

14.  Publicity Release. Each winner, by accepting a prize, grants VBB and its designees and affiliates, including the bowling alley, full permission, except where legally prohibited, to use such winner’s name, address (city and state only), photograph, voice and/or other likeness, and prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation and without notice, review or approval, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and in perpetuity. Each winner shall execute all documents that VBB may require to be signed in connection with this release.

15.  Governing Law. The MS and these Official Rules shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds that any provision of these Official Rules, or their application to a particular persons or circumstances, is invalid or unenforceable to any extent, then the remainder of these Official Rules shall remain enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law. The venue for any cause of action arising out of the MS or these Official Rules shall be located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
